State of the Soul: June 2026

June came to a close, which means it’s time for the monthly SotS. This will be a short one.

Between You, Me, and the Moonlit Sea is coming along. I am over 2/3rds through edits/rewrites now. Draft 3 is currently sitting at ~114,000 words and 26/45 chapters completed. I’m obsessed with the portion I just finished and I’m so excited for people to read it in the future.

I’d offer up a teaser snippet, but I’m deep enough into the book that I think anything I’d offer might be a spoiler haha. You’ll just have to take my word for it and get hype for release day.

June was also the start of the Science Fantasy Jam, and with it came the reveal of the cover for my next project, Pierce the Sky.

I also drew a few things for Pride this month, one for PTS and one for BYMMS.

This month I also did an interview with Hope Engel, who happened to be one of my beta readers for the first draft of BYMMS. I had a lot of fun with it!

And finally, I got some new PTS art from Cobyfrog that I colored myself. I’m very pleased with how this one came out. I think I’m getting better at coloring!

Next month I’m finally moving into my new apartment. It won’t be until about midway, but I’m still packing, so I imagine progress on BYMMS will be slower– much to my chagrin. I’m having such a good time with the edits, I’d hate to slow down, but alas. It is what it is.

As a reminder, Between You, Me, and the Moonlit Sea will be launching on Backerkit later this year. If you’re interested in grabbing a copy, be sure to follow the campaign! I’d love to hit 40 followers soon.

Until next time. ♥
