PTS Lore Drop: The Xuaci-olokan

So I realized I never posted the original PTS Lore Drop that was made available on my Patreon. I figured, for consistency, I would include that here on my blog.

As you know by now, I’ve been working on a new project called Pierce the Sky, or PTS. In preparation for writing the book– and ordering the cover and extra art– I’ve drawing references of all the important characters and stuff, and I’d like to start introducing you to the world.

PTS takes place in 2028, 38 years after an alien race known as the Xuaci-olokan made it to Earth and began hiding among mankind. They arrived in 1990 but remained hidden until 2000, when they revealed themselves to humanity and explained the purpose for their arrival: to help mankind prepare for the inevitable invasion of an intergalactic force known to them as the Kureh-sha. The Kureh-sha are a hivemind race who travel to any inhabitable planets they can find and conquer it for themselves, establishing offshoots of their colony. They successfully conquered the Xuaci-olokan’s home planet of Xua, but a large faction of Xuaci was able to escape and seek out allies elsewhere in the cosmos.

When the Xuaci came to Earth, they brought with them as much raw material from their home world as they could, which was vital to the production of the things they believed would save them and man from the Kureh-sha: sentient weapons.

The sentient weapons and their wielders share the same Xuaci name: Xel-taiga. In English the weapon and its suit are referred to as a Celestial Set and the wielder is known as an Angel. Together with the engineers of their weapons (known as Starsmiths) and the staff who keep everything running, they form the Heavenly Forces.

All Xuaci are psychic! They can communicate telepathically but cannot read minds. This psychic affinity allows them to speak with all weapons made from the sentient crystals from their home planet, known as Sori-kaina, or Celestial Quartz.

Xuaci have fully integrated into human society and adapted to human culture in many ways, but still maintain what they can of their own culture as well. They’ve influenced a lot of changes in human governments around the world to accommodate their ways and beliefs, which you’ll see more of in the story itself.

And that’s all for now. If you’re curious about some of the other lore drops I’ve done, here they are: The Heavenly Forces and Characters and Info.
