If you have a question not answered here, feel free to contact me!
Can you read my story?
No, sorry.
Can I beta-read/proofread/sensitivity read/edit your work?
You are free to respond to any of my reader/editor calls when I put them out on my socials, but please don’t ask me to read/edit anything out of the blue.
Can I create fanfiction/fanart of your work?
Yes! I am fine with fanfiction and fanart.
Do you have an agent?
No, I’m completely independent.
Who is Linn Silver?
My not-at-all secret romance pen name. The reason I separate my romance works from my other works is for marketing purposes, and so readers know what they can expect based on the name that work is under. If it’s Linn Foster’s story, romance might be involved but it’s not the core of the plot. If it’s Linn Silver’s story, romance is a major part of the plot.
Who is Jules Blue?
My spouse! ♥ We write some together sometimes. We hope to have our first co-written book finished by the end of 2026.
What is Platinum Soul Press?
My personal imprint. All my work is published or represented through Platinum Soul.
What age range is your work for?
All my work is intended for adults 18 or older.
Who drew _______?
All art credits can be found on my credits page, which is linked in the footer as well, and credits should be listed on the bottom of each page of this site where art is features. If I missed one, let me know!
Where can I keep up with you/find news about your work?
All my socials are linked on the Where to Find Me page, and I post a lot of free content, including news, on my Patreon.
Do you have any writing advice?
My two biggest pieces of advice are these:
1) Read, and read often. Read what you love to write, and read what you don’t normally write. If you’re a genre person, read some literary and contemporary. If you’re a literary person, dabble in genre. The more you read, the better your writing will become. However, don’t just consume media for enjoyment, pick it apart and analyze it based on the knowledge you have of writing. In his book, Thrill Me, Benjamin Percy talks about how Aaron Copland explained how one consumes music in his essay “How We Listen to Music,” and how those same ideas applied to writing. The first plane of music is the ‘sensuous plane’ which is listening “for the sheer pleasure of the musical sound itself.” The second plane is the ‘expressive plane.’ What is the song trying to say? What is it about? The third plane is the ‘sheerly musical’ which most people aren’t conscious of, and can only be examined by someone with the necessary training. The more you learn about writing, the deeper you can analyze the writing of others, and the more you can improve your own work.
2) Be open to learning. Writing is one of those fields where you should always be striving for improvement. If you stop, you stagnate. There are so many authors out there who can teach you something new, either through their own work, workshops and lectures, or craft books. On that note, I would recommend a few craft books to you: Thrill Me by Benjamin Percy, The Modern Library Writer’s Workshop by Stephen Koch, Steering the Craft by Ursula K. Le Guin, and Zen in the Art of Writing by Ray Bradbury.
